At Unity of Charleston, we believe that our children are a whole and perfect expression of God.

Your child will learn spirituality through affirmations, activities, and monthly themes of spiritual qualities and principles.
Each week, we are connecting to our sacred space within ourselves by recognizing and honoring the Gifts of Creation in a different scientific kingdom each week.
October Theme: "Self-Responsibility"
In September, we explored the Power of Thought and how our thoughts influence the way we experience ourselves and the world around us. In October, we will build on that foundation by exploring Self-Responsibility—learning how to take what we have discovered and put it into action.
This unit focuses on what it means to be accountable for our words, choices, and actions, while recognizing how our choices affect both ourselves and others.
Being Accountable
Recognize thoughts, habits, and behaviors that may not be supportive or healthy for us, and develop a plan for releasing what no longer serves us.
Making Choices
Explore how our choices shape our experiences and develop tools to pause, reflect, and respond in more conscious ways.
Seeing Things in a New Way
Practice looking at situations from a different perspective and recognize that we have the power to choose how we respond.
Activating Hope
Look for the good, recognize the beauty and possibilities around us, and learn to approach life with hope, gratitude, and an open heart.
Our Youth and Family Ministry is growing, and we would love to welcome a few more Youth Guides to support our Sunday gatherings.
If you enjoy working with children, value spiritual exploration, or simply feel called to help create a loving and uplifting space for our kids, we would be grateful to have you join us.
On the first Sunday of each month, children are invited to help play crystal bowls/singing bowls during the adults’ meditation.
Kids ages eight and up can join Nomi, and we’ll have two or three short practice sessions beforehand.
Parents are welcome to play with their child if they’d like, but it’s totally optional. It’s simple to learn and always a peaceful, heart-centered experience.

Join us THE FIRST SATURDAY of each month at 11:00 am in person for this Workshop facilitated by Jackie McCullough, Life Options Coach, Counselor.
During The Power of Choice Monthly Workshop, we talk about habits that aren’t serving us and steps we can take to eliminate those self-defeating habits. We will get to your personal reasons for habits like compulsive overeating, worrying about our children, parents, the political situation in our country, finances, and many others.
Once we see the reasons (beliefs) fueling these behaviors, we can easily change them to more comfortable and more empowering beliefs. We look forward to having you join!

Earth Care at Unity Charleston Announcements

NEW TO EARTHCARE: The EarthCare team now collects used ballpoint pens and small printer cartridges for recycling. Please place them in the box outside the office.
We are proud to announce that the Unity campus is now designated as a certified wildlife habitat. A big shout out to the Acorn School for acquiring this designation!

When I mention that certain items can’t go in the recycling, someone often replies, “I just put everything in and let them sort it out,” meaning items that may or may not be recyclable. The problem is that unwanted items cost recycling centers money to handle, and some can even damage their equipment. (ASG)
Check what your county accepts, and please follow its guidelines:
Charleston County Recycling - Charleston County offers single‑stream curbside recycling, so most common recyclables can share the same roll cart.
Items Accepted in the Curbside Roll Cart
Aluminum cans (don’t crush them – items are sorted by shape)
Steel/tin cans Glass bottles & jars (brown, green, clear)
Plastic bottles & containers (#1–7, bottles & tubs only)
Cardboard (flattened) Paperboard (cereal boxes, shoe boxes)
Mixed paper (newspapers, magazines, office paper, junk mail)

Ongoing Event:
We collect batteries, toilet paper and paper towel rolls, batteries, markers, writing pens, and light bulbs for recycling. The boxes for items are in the hall outside the office.
Meditation Group:
Offered at 8:30 am on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. We start with a guided meditation, then practice the Silence for 30 min, and then close with a guided meditation. You may stay in the group for as long as you wish each time.
